Biography
Ito Hitomi (伊藤瞳, born 1973 in Chiba Prefecture) is a Japanese illustrator and printmaker based in Tokyo. She graduated from Musashino Art University's Department of Oil Painting, Printmaking course, in 1996, and went on to study at the Palette Club School. That academic grounding in oil painting and printmaking underpins a mature practice centered on advertising and book illustration — much of it worked by hand in acrylic gouache — alongside her print output. She is a member of the Tokyo Illustrators Society (TIS) and has returned to Musashino Art University as a member of its teaching faculty. She has shown her work in solo and group exhibitions in Tokyo and elsewhere in Japan.
