Biography
Nel Pak is a Dutch mokuhanga artist based in the Netherlands who creates handmade water-based woodblock prints on mulberry paper. All of her prints are hand-carved and hand-printed using traditional Japanese mokuhanga techniques on Japanese paper.
Pak is active in the European mokuhanga community, contributing to Mokublad, the newsletter of the Mokuhanga Magic community based in Belgium, and participating in collaborative portfolio projects with other international mokuhanga artists. She was involved in coordinating exhibitions featuring mokuhanga works, including projects with Gallery Ami Kanoko in Osaka, Japan. She was selected for the juried exhibition at the 2024 International Mokuhanga Conference (IMC) in Echizen, Japan, where her prints were displayed in the Europe and Africa regional exhibition.
