Music Score

Against a black ground, a thin vertical line divides the composition into two halves, each with pale white and grey marks resembling musical notation: a five-line staff crosses the center, small dots suggest notes, and a curving squiggle sits above the staff like a clef or note stem. In the upper right, two straight diagonal lines meet at a point and are crossed by a curved crescent shape, while soft smudges of light appear at the upper left and lower right corners. Akihiro Misaki's 2016 lithograph "Music Score" renders these sparse, glowing forms in white and grey against black in a spare, abstract composition.
