$300–$2,500. Common prints: $300–$800. Key value factors: Amano's sosaku-hanga prints are modestly priced. Bold, well-preserved abstract works are most valued.
Back Cover (Part 10), dated July 1957, belongs to what appears to be a multi-part printed publication or portfolio, with this print serving as the closing image of the tenth section. The designation suggests Amano was creating works intended to function within a sequential structure, where each part contributed to a larger whole while also standing as an independent composition.
Executed in ink on paper without added color, this print relies entirely on the contrast between black ink and the white or cream surface of the paper. The monochrome restriction forces attention onto the qualities that distinguish woodblock printing from other black-and-white media: the specific texture of ink transferred from a carved wood surface, the variations in density where the block's surface meets the paper under different pressures, and the crisp edges where cut areas abruptly end the printed mark.
