Three bare-breasted mermaids with scaled, fin-like tails are printed in grey-blue ink on cream Japanese paper, arranged in a row with raised, gesturing arms and long wavy hair; a scalloped, striated band suggesting sky or cloud sits above them, and a repeating fish-scale/net pattern of interlocking arcs fills the lower register beneath their tails.
