Description
A gilded, ornately carved picture frame with foliate corner scrollwork encloses a receding sequence of identical smaller frame outlines rendered in silvery-white, each nested tighter than the last and tunneling toward a pale, empty center. The palette shifts from warm bronze-gold at the outer edge to cool white and pale grey in the interior, giving the concentric rectangles a shimmering, illusionistic depth. Made by Masahiro Masuda in 2019, "Frames #6" combines a used picture frame with silkscreen on acrylic, canvas, and wood panel.
