Yama Kabuto O — 山甲O — is the fifteenth variation in the Mountain Kabuto series, using the Latin alphabet to designate entries beyond the initial A. By the fifteenth entry, Amano would have exhausted the most obvious compositional approaches to the "mountain as helmet" subject and would be exploring more oblique interpretations — perhaps the helmet's interior space, or the relationship between the mountain-helmet and a figure wearing it, or purely abstract relationships between the geometric forms suggested by both subjects.
