Description

Luna (2003) presents an abstract, deckle-edged composition dominated by two large overlapping circular floral crests rendered in cream, red, and dark charcoal-grey, set against a mottled blue-grey ground in the upper right. A rectangular red-and-cream panel bearing vertical black Japanese script is collaged into the lower right, alongside a smaller strip of patterned red-and-white paper in the upper right corner. The palette is limited to indigo-grey, black, cream, and vermillion red, built up through the woodblock printing and chine collé of Nepalese and Thai mulberry papers with fragments of Edo-period handwritten text.
