Flashback, “December 14”, 2020

Flashback, "December 14" (2020) is an abstract sumi ink composition on yupo, dominated by a diagonal grid of black and white diamond shapes crossing the center of the sheet. Ink washes, blooms, and dripping rivulets spread outward from and through the diamond pattern, with pooled dark forms and thin trailing lines breaking the geometric regularity, especially in the lower left and right portions. The palette is entirely black, grey, and white, with soft cloud-like ink blooms in the upper register contrasting against the sharper-edged diamonds below.
