Trace 21-26

An abstract composition centered on a glowing red-orange square outline against a dense, dark blue-black ground built up from countless fine, crosshatched linear strokes; the interior of the square is a darker charcoal-black field flecked with sparse red marks, while the surrounding area fades from deep blue at the center edges to paler grey-blue at the four corners. *Trace 21-26*, made by Emi Uchida in 2021 in oil and charcoal on canvas, is square in format with a symmetrical, meditative composition and a muted, cool palette broken only by the vivid red frame.
