Abstract #3

"Abstract #3" (2010), a Chinese brush painting by Yeh Fang, renders dense vertical columns of dark, swirling ink strokes along the left side that thin into pale gray tendrils and cloud-like puffs scattered across the right two-thirds of the composition. The strokes have a smoky, flame-like undulation, built from tight curling marks in varying ink densities against an unpainted cream ground, with a red circular seal stamped in the upper right and another near the lower right corner. The overall palette is monochrome ink on paper, ranging from near-black to faint gray washes.
