Description
Flagging before I write anything: this image is not a Japanese print. It shows two piñatas — a pink elephant (left) and a blue donkey/wolf-like animal (right) — each rigged on sticks, spilling confetti and colored ribbon streamers, with rows of hands reaching up from below against a plain tan background. The medium given, "gouache on amate paper," is traditional Mexican bark paper, consistent with piñata/Mexican folk-art imagery, not Japanese washi or woodblock technique.
Since this looks like a wrong file rather than a Japanese print, I didn't write a catalog entry that calls it one. Want me to:
- Write a plain factual description of this piece anyway (for a different, non-Japanese-print context), or
- Hold off — you locate the correct Japanese print image and re-send?
