Reveries #3

Reveries #3 (2023) by Yuasa Katsutoshi presents a faint, monochrome image within a circular field of Japanese paper with a deckled, uneven edge, set against a plain lavender-grey ground. Within the circle, a hazy horizontal landscape shows a mottled, textured band of low vegetation across the lower portion and a single utility pole with cross-arms and wires rising near the center, fading into a pale, almost blank sky above. The overall tonal range is extremely low-contrast and soft, produced by photocopy transfer and laser print on Japanese paper.
