Shirakino #3

A silhouetted mountain ridge with a jagged, uneven peak line spans the horizon, rendered in near-black tones against a pale grey sky streaked with soft horizontal clouds. Below the ridge, a dark expanse of water or shadowed land fills the lower half of the composition in a heavily textured, granular black. The palette is monochrome grey and black throughout, evoking a still, dim atmosphere; this is "Shirakino #3," a water-based woodcut on paper by Yuasa Katsutoshi, 2019.
