Birds F — the sixth in a lettered series of bird compositions by Kimura Yoshiharu — depicts birds in his characteristic contemporary woodblock style. His bird series explored the same basic subject across multiple compositions, each version asking what could be discovered in the same subject through different compositional approaches, colorways, or moments of action. The bird subjects that recur throughout Kimura's career demonstrate his sustained interest in avian form as a vehicle for graphic exploration.
