Untitled (kimura-yoshiharu)

An untitled woodblock print from Kimura's contemporary body of work — the final in this sequence of unidentified prints. Together with his titled compositions, these untitled works form a body of output that represents one contemporary Japanese printmaker's sustained engagement with the visual traditions of Japan — its birds, its animals, its seas, its skies — through the bold graphic language of modern art. The synthesis that Kimura achieved across this body of work defined his contribution to Japanese printmaking in the second half of the twentieth century.
