Description

A large scaly fish with a gaping mouth faces a bare-breasted mermaid raising both hands, the two figures set against a cream ground with a scalloped, ladder-patterned band overhead and a lattice of wave-like scales below. Rendered entirely in a soft blue-grey line against unpainted paper, the composition is sparse and graphic, with visible plate/paper texture at the edges.
