A large banana-leaf frond fills the composition on the diagonal, its central rib and torn, jagged leaf margins rendered in a monochrome palette of grey and white. The leaf surface is broken into light and dark grey planes, giving the torn edges a sense of texture and depth against a mottled grey background.
