Description
Frames #10 (2019), a silkscreen by Masahiro Masuda, nests a sequence of ornate carved picture-frame profiles that recede toward a blank white rectangle at the center. The outer frame is physical, painted in a worn sage-cream tone with a repeating egg-and-dart molding, while the printed frames within shift through bands of magenta, orange, and violet with a streaky, semi-transparent texture, giving the innermost frames a hazy, dissolving appearance. The overall effect is a tunnel-like recession of matching moldings in cool white and antique gold against the saturated color washes.
