Madz

An abstract, non-representational composition of dense, overlapping grid patterns in a wide array of colors—yellow, magenta, cyan, green, orange, and purple—layered over a mostly black ground; the grid density and color saturation shift across the sheet, darkest and most compressed in the upper left and progressively brighter and more open toward the upper right. Printed in mokuhanga from 4 blocks on washi with deep uneven deckle edges on all sides, the sheet is pencil-signed "Madz," numbered "1/4," and signed "Mike Lyon 2023" below the image, with a red artist's seal at lower right.
