Sunbeam

"Sunbeam" (2014), a drypoint etching by Noriko Saito, centers on a large red irregular shape spanning the left half of the sheet, overlaid with flat black forms — an angular wedge and a crescent — near its middle. A dense web of fine scratched lines covers the entire white ground, thickening into a triangular form at upper right filled with tight scribbled marks, while small blocks of orange and yellow appear near the lower right and upper right corners respectively. The sheet carries a pencil edition number at lower left, faint characters at bottom center, and the signature "Noriko" in pencil at lower right.
