Description
In the Pond Diptych is a two-panel woodblock work presenting female figures or natural forms within an aquatic environment — a pond setting that, in Oda's symbolic vocabulary, connects water with female generativity and cyclical renewal. The diptych format, rare in her output, suggests a composition deliberately split and reunited across two sheets, requiring the viewer to read both panels as a continuous pictorial field. Lotus or aquatic vegetation likely frames the figures, drawing on traditional kacho-e conventions while asserting Oda's feminist recontextualization. The edition of 50 is among her larger runs. This impression number appears in the second half of the edition. Impression 10 of 50.
