Description
An elderly bald man in a brown kimono kneels beside a younger figure in a green and white striped robe who leans low over a long horizontal scroll, brush in hand, inscribing large characters as the older man looks on. They are on a tatami floor beside a sliding wooden screen door, with an ink stone and small dishes set nearby and a pink-toned sky and bundled poles visible through an opening at left.
