Line of Shadow

Line of Shadow (Sara Lee, 2017, pastel on paper) is a minimal, nearly abstract composition split into two soft horizontal fields: a pale blue-gray expanse above and a lighter, almost white band below, meeting at a hazy horizon just below center. A faint diagonal gradient of deeper gray crosses the upper field from lower left toward upper right, reading as a soft cast shadow against an otherwise blank, atmospheric surface. There are no figures or objects, only smooth tonal transitions in muted gray-blue and white, giving the work a quiet, hushed mood.
