Gravity IV

A tall vertical composition divided by a large tan-brown circular form occupying the upper two-thirds, its curved edge cutting diagonally across the top before giving way to a speckled off-white lower field. Scattered across the lower section are loosely scrawled black linear marks resembling calligraphic or cursive gestures, interspersed with small crossed and angular strokes, and a solid dark blue sphere sits near the bottom edge. Shinichi Nakazawa's *Gravity IV* (2014) is an etching in a muted palette of tan, black, and indigo blue on a textured, grainy ground.
