Latitude IX

A large rounded, almost circular form dominates the composition, its surface entirely sheathed in gold leaf and divided by thin incised lines into a few irregular geometric sections, with a small notch cut into the lower edge. In the lower-left quadrant, a black rectangular panel breaks the gold field, bearing pale scratched or etched linework and a white calligraphic mark; a small red seal is stamped near the lower right.
