Ratio V

An abstract composition divided into a narrow left column and a larger right field: the column pairs a solid dark blue square at top with a grid of loosely gestural, calligraphic line marks etched in black below. The right two-thirds is filled with a mottled, crackled brown and tan textured surface divided into a grid of rectangular panels, its surface veined with winding, river-like lines and scattered white fissures. Pencil-inscribed below the image are the edition number "10/25," the title "Ratio V," and the artist's signature, consistent with the work's identity as a 2003 etching by Shinichi Nakazawa.
