Le Nuit

An abstract composition built from dense, overlapping networks of fine white and dark linework—curving arcs, angular zigzags, small circular and diamond motifs, and scattered dot patterns—etched across a mottled surface of dusty pink and muted sage-green. The lines cluster most densely in the upper-center portion, thinning toward looser, wavy striations at the bottom edge, with no discernible figures or setting. A penciled edition number appears in the lower left, the title in the lower center, and the artist's signature "Shoichi Hasegawa" in the lower right; per the accession data this is *Le Nuit*, an etching and aquatint in colours on wove, artist Shoichi Hasegawa, year unknown.
