Description
*Sakura on Sakura #2* (2019), an archival pigment print by Tokihiro Sato, layers a double exposure of pale pink cherry blossoms with the dark, moss-flecked branches of a tree trunk against a pale blue-grey sky. Scattered petals and small blossom clusters appear to float over and through the bark, blurring the boundary between the two superimposed images. There are no figures; the effect is soft-focus and dreamlike, dominated by pink, green-brown, and pale blue tones.
