Description
"Kodomo asobi nagauta zukushi" (Children's Play: A Catalogue of Nagauta Songs) depicts children performing or playing at scenes from nagauta musical compositions. "Harugoma" (Spring Horse Dance) is a specific nagauta composition performed as a new year's dance featuring a dancer with a decorative horse prop. Kuniyoshi's treatment of children in playful theatrical imitation was a popular genre that combined his characteristic delight in human energy with an affectionate humor.
