Description
A stitch-bound book cover in muted grey-beige, its surface covered edge to edge with a fine linear pattern of long, wispy grass or pine-needle-like blades rendered in dark green-black ink, growing in loose vertical clusters from bottom to top. A column of Japanese characters in black ink runs down the center of the cover, and two dark brown thread bindings are visible along the right edge, with a strip of red endpaper peeking out beneath the spine; the book rests against a white cloth backdrop. The overall palette is subdued and monochrome apart from the grey ground and black ink, giving the object a quiet, worn, document-like presence consistent with its identification as Vol. 13 of *World of Art* by Watanabe Seitei, 1891.
