Four Seasons is a mokuhanga still life from 2019 that gathers everyday objects — likely household or food items — organized to mark seasonal passage. Nam's mokuhanga practice employs traditional water-based pigments printed on dampened [washi](/glossary/washi), producing soft [bokashi](/glossary/bokashi) gradations that suit the quiet, contemplative tone of her still-life work. Rather than the conventional [meisho-e](/glossary/meisho-e) or [kacho-e](/glossary/kacho-e) framing of seasons through landscape or flora, Nam grounds seasonal change in domestic and consumable goods, objects that carry cultural memory across her Korean and American experience. The composition likely arranges items sparingly, using negative space in the manner of Japanese print tradition to allow each element to register with deliberate weight.
