A dense forest interior dominated by deep green and near-black tones: dark tree trunks and thin branches rise vertically through a moss-covered floor, with a fallen, moss-covered branch or limb lying diagonally across the lower half of the frame. No figures are present; the scene is shadowed and damp-looking, with scattered pine needles and patches of dark, wet ground visible at bottom right.
