*Fragrant Summer Breeze* (2019), a Nihonga work by Yoshihito Kawase, presents an abstracted, nearly non-representational composition of swirling silver-gray and blue tones sweeping diagonally across the panel, with a ring of concentric ripples in the lower left. Scattered flecks and patches of gold and rust color the blue passage at bottom, while a small cluster of gold-toned foliage sits amid the grey sweeping strokes at right; jagged black zigzag marks cut across the upper portion. The artist's seal in red appears at the lower left corner.
