Key value factors: For living or recently deceased artists, limited edition size and gallery representation drive value. Signed and numbered prints from smaller editions are most desirable.
Touches 2W-C.V.B., a 1989 color woodblock, extends the Touches series into its late phase, four years after the 1985 entries. By this point Yoshida had accumulated dozens of variations, each recording specific interactions between block, pigment, and paper. The 2W prefix and C.V.B. suffix distinguish this particular set of printing conditions from all others in the sequence. The 1989 date places this print near the end of the decade-long investigation, when Yoshida's understanding of the variables had deepened considerably. Each new touch built on the accumulated knowledge of all previous ones, the series functioning as a visual diary of craft refinement.
