Description

An abstract, non-figurative composition in black ink on off-white paper, formed by a dense, roughly oval cluster of looping, tangled lines and irregular blotted marks concentrated in the upper-center and lower-right areas. The ink varies from fine, thread-like squiggles to heavier, saturated pooled strokes, with the surrounding paper left largely bare. "NY Portrait 5," made by Cyoko Tamai in 2015 using washi paper and sumi ink.
