"Celebration Amid Autumn Leaves" (Momijiga) is Chapter 7 of The Tale of Genji, which describes a spectacular autumn outing at which Genji dances the "Blue Sea Waves" (Seigaiha) performance so brilliantly that even the falling autumn leaves seem to bow before him. This is the chapter in which Genji's beauty and talent are described at their most transcendent: the young man at the height of his power, dazzling the court, the autumn maple leaves raining down as accompaniment to his dance.
