Papaver

A large red poppy in full bloom dominates the foreground, its petals rendered in overlapping washes of scarlet and orange around a dark, almost black center, with a rounded green seed pod rising beside it. Behind, a small figure in a lilac dress stands beside a house with a brown gabled roof, set among a second poppy seed pod, loose collaged strips of pink, yellow, and blue, and sprays of ochre foliage against a pale turquoise ground, under a mottled blue-and-white sky.
