Sandflowers, Shôwa period, dated 1961

An abstracted coastal landscape rendered in a pale sandy palette, with a horizontal band of muted olive-green along the top suggesting distant hills or dune grass under a strip of sky. Below, a network of thin black wavy lines and small fence-like structures crisscrosses the composition, interspersed with scattered small motifs of foliage and flowers in sparse touches of red, purple, yellow, and green.
