Description

Like a page from a calendar of private symbols, "Almanac" presents Tajima's abstract vocabulary arranged with a quiet, ordered rhythm suggestive of the passage of time through recurring pattern and mark. The print draws on the sosaku-hanga tradition of the artist as total maker — carver, printer, and conceptual author — to produce something that feels both systematically built and intuitively alive. Compressed marks accumulate into a visual record of days or seasons unnamed but felt.
