Description

This 1963 Showa-period work is a variant of Tajima's "Evidence A" series, exploring abstract compositional fields that evoke archaeological layering, sediment, and the visual grammar of preserved traces. By designating works within series (A, B, etc.) Tajima acknowledged that each print is a unique investigation of the same formal problem — no two printings being identical — and that the series as a whole constitutes a more complete argument than any single work. The rough, material texture of the woodblock surface becomes evidence itself.
