Zona

A dark, near-black square field frames a slightly smaller inset panel filled with dense, horizontal striations in grey and white, their wavy, textured lines suggesting a woodgrain or brushed-fabric surface. The composition is entirely abstract and non-figurative, built from tonal contrast between the flat black border and the pale, rippling texture at center. *Zona*, by Juan Escudero (2019), is executed in pigmented ink on an acrylic base on 300 gr Artistic Fabiano paper.
