The station of Totsuka in Kanagawa Prefecture appears through the koinobori — the carp-shaped streamers flown on poles during the Boy's Day festival in early May. The carp banners, one for each son in the household, transformed the Tokaido's post-town streets into an annual spectacle of color and movement, the fish-shaped fabric tubes filling with wind and swimming in the spring air above the rooftops. Sekino captures the festive atmosphere in bold color.
