Flower Cart presents a subject bridging the [kacho-e](/glossary/kacho-e) tradition of nature imagery with the genre scenes of everyday urban or rural commerce. A flower vendor's cart—laden with cut blooms or potted plants—offered Kanamori an opportunity to explore dense floral pattern against architectural or street backgrounds, a compositional problem well suited to the woodblock medium's capacity for flat, interlocking color areas. In the sosaku hanga approach, such a subject would be treated with personal interpretation rather than documentary accuracy: simplified forms, selective color palette, and deliberate carving marks would give the print a handmade vitality distinct from commercial reproduction. [Bokashi](/glossary/bokashi) gradation may appear in background areas suggesting sky or pavement, while the flowers themselves could be rendered with the bold outlines characteristic of Kanamori's work under Munakata's influence.
