Untitled work by Katsuyuki Nishijima

A traditional two-story Japanese building with dark tiled roofs and white plastered walls stands under a partly cloudy blue sky; the upper story has latticed windows and the ground floor features a short indigo noren curtain printed with a light circular crest pattern hanging in the doorway. The composition centers the structure squarely with a paved or tiled forecourt in front, rendered in flat blocks of beige, brown, indigo, and white typical of woodblock printing.
