Crow Resting on Wood Trunk
Description
A crow settles onto a gnarled wooden trunk with the casual ease of a bird entirely at home in its environment. Kyosai's crow studies are among his most admired works — he observed the birds with an almost obsessive attention, recording their postures, their glossy feathers, their sideways glances with the eye of both naturalist and artist. This print captures the particular quality of stillness that descends when a crow pauses: watchful, self-possessed, and entirely indifferent to human observation.
