Description
Southwest Star — Nansei no Hoshi — a celestial composition placing a star in the southwestern quadrant of the sky, the diagonal direction combining the associations of south (warmth, summer) and west (evening, the setting sun). Kimura's directional star subjects locate the celestial body within a spatial and temporal framework, the star's position in the sky determining both the quality of light and the atmospheric conditions that surround it. The southwest star suggests an evening composition, the night advancing from the west.
