Printed lithographically with images registered on both faces of the sheet, the work exploits the translucency of the support so that the verso impression reads through the recto, layering the transparencies the subject itself proposes. The graphic vocabulary draws on the tonal gradients and granular wash effects characteristic of stone or aluminium-plate lithography, set against the contour lines used to delineate rim, base, and meniscus.
