Description
An untitled woodblock print by Kiyochika whose abstract classification suggests a composition not anchored to a specific named location or event. Kiyochika's kosen-ga light pictures were produced primarily between 1876 and 1881 and documented specific Tokyo districts including Tsukiji, Ryogoku, and Asakusa. Prints outside this documented framework that share his formal language—tonal gradation, Western-influenced spatial recession, atmospheric light effects—may reflect the transitional moments in his career when subject and method were not yet fully aligned with a unified series concept. The washi and woodblock technique remain consistent with his known production.
