Description
An untitled woodblock print attributed to Kiyochika and listed under abstract subjects. Kiyochika's documented Tokyo series from the late 1870s and early 1880s are among the most systematically studied prints of the Meiji period, but his total output extended to many smaller series, single-sheet works, and illustrated publications whose individual prints have not been comprehensively catalogued. This print may represent one such peripheral work: produced outside a named series, without a title or topographic identification, and classified as abstract due to the absence of clear subject matter. The technical execution—woodblock on [washi](/glossary/washi) with standard multi-block color registration—is consistent with his known production methods.
